Communications Director

Sarah Tucker (she/her) joined the WSLC in November 2018, first as Executive Assistant to the Secretary Treasurer before joining the Communications team in March 2021 as the WSLC’s Digital Organizer. In June 2024, she took on the role of  Communications Director, leading the council’s strategic communications and serving as Editor of the WSLC’s daily labor news site The STAND.

Sarah was activated in the labor movement through organizing in support of faculty and staff unionization while a student at Seattle University, and first worked with the WSLC on I-1433, the successful 2016 statewide initiative to raise the minimum wage and pass paid sick and safe leave. Prior to returning to the council in 2018, Sarah served as Legislative Assistant to state Rep. Joe Fitzgibbon (D-White Center) for two years. She grew up in central California and spends most of her free time in Seattle hunting for the perfect burrito al pastor (recommendations always appreciated).
